From smoking to ultra: the race that changed my life

In 2018, I had the pleasure of meeting Claudio during one of the best experiences of my life: managing a Hoka Test centre in Torbole sul Garda for two seasons. Right from the start, Claudio was able to transmit to me an infectious enthusiasm, great willpower and a rare determination. It was the beginning of a beautiful friendship with Claudio, Michela, Ilaria and the entire Stivo Running group. Those years were magical: imagine running at sunset along the shores of Lake Garda, sharing passion and smiles with a close-knit group. Unfortunately, the pandemic marked the end of the test centre and, with it, of my ‘excuse’ to run with them. However, social media proved invaluable in following the evolution of Claudio's sporting career, which in the meantime has achieved extraordinary goals. This prompted me to contact him and ask him to tell his story. The result was a truly inspiring dialogue, which I hope will motivate anyone who wants to get involved, at any age and without fear.
